About

A console for one question: which generator draws it best?

Text to Image Compare is an independent editorial site about text-to-image AI generators. One prompt, every tool, written up honestly.

There is no shortage of screenshots showing what these tools can do at their best. What is harder to find is a straight account of what they do on an ordinary Tuesday, with an ordinary prompt, when nobody is cherry-picking. That gap is the reason this site exists.

What we cover

Everything here is about generating images from written prompts. The comparisons are organised around the decisions that actually change which tool you should pay for:

How the comparisons are made

Every comparison is organised around the same questions — the ones that actually change which tool you should pay for. We look at how each generator handles prompt fidelity, style range, text inside images, anatomy, resolution, editing and licence terms, and write up where each one lands.

The write-ups draw on hands-on use of the tools alongside their own documentation, pricing pages and published licence terms. Where a tool is strong we say so; where it falls short we say that too, including where it needs different phrasing to perform well. The aim is a straight account you can act on, not a highlight reel.

What you will not find here

No scores out of ten, no star ratings, no leaderboards, no award badges. Judging a generated image is a matter of taste and purpose, and dressing that up as a decimal would make the comparison look more objective than it is. We use editorial language instead: where a tool wins, where it struggles, and who we would point at it.

We also do not accept payment for coverage or for a favourable verdict. Tools are covered because people are choosing between them, not because anyone asked us to.

How this site is funded

Text to Image Compare is affiliate-supported. Some links to the tools we write about are affiliate links, which means that if you follow one and subscribe, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Those commissions pay for the subscriptions and credits we burn through while testing.

Affiliate relationships do not influence what we write. They do not buy placement, they do not change a verdict, and they play no part in deciding which tools get covered. Where a tool has no affiliate programme at all, it is compared on exactly the same terms as one that does. If the best answer to your question is the free tier of a tool that earns us nothing, that is what the article will say.

Keeping things current

Image models change quickly, and a verdict written against one version can go stale the moment a new one ships. When that happens we revisit the comparison and rewrite it rather than patching a sentence. If something on the site looks out of date against what you are seeing in the tool, we would genuinely like to know.
