Privacy Notice

This is a publishing site. There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up, and no form to fill in — so in normal use we do not collect anything you would recognise as personal information about yourself.

What we collect

We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which articles are read and how people move around the site. That produces aggregate statistics — page views, referring sites, rough geographic region, browser and device type. We use it to decide what to write next, not to build a profile of you.

Like every web server, the hosting infrastructure also keeps standard request logs, which may include your IP address, the page requested, and a timestamp. These are used for security and troubleshooting and are not combined with anything else.

What we do not collect

• We do not ask for or store your name, postal address, or phone number.
• We do not run user accounts, memberships, or logins.
• We do not process payments, so we never see card details.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade information about visitors to anyone.
• We do not upload or retain any prompts or images — nothing on this site generates images.

Cookies

A small banner appears on your first visit asking you to acknowledge cookie use. When you accept it, we store a single value in your browser so the banner does not reappear. That value does nothing else.

Analytics may set its own cookie or use local storage to tell a returning visit from a new one. Affiliate partners may set a cookie when you click through to their site, so they can attribute a later signup to us — that cookie is set on their side, under their policy, and is described below.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Nothing on this site breaks if you do; you will simply see the cookie banner again on each visit.

Affiliate links

Some links to the tools we write about are affiliate links. If you follow one, the destination site may record that you arrived from here, typically with a cookie or a tagged URL, so that a subsequent subscription can be credited to us. We receive commission reports in aggregate: we can see that a signup happened, not who you are.

Once you leave this site you are covered by the destination's own privacy policy, which we do not control. It is worth reading before you create an account with any image generator, particularly regarding what they do with the prompts and images you produce there.

Third parties

The third parties that can see request data in the normal course of serving this site are our hosting provider, our analytics provider, and any affiliate network operating a link you choose to click. We do not embed social media trackers, advertising exchanges, or comment systems.

Your choices

• Decline or clear cookies in your browser.
• Enable a "do not track" or tracking-protection setting; we do not attempt to work around it.
• Use an ad or tracker blocker — the site is designed to work fine with one running.
• Write to us to ask what, if anything, is associated with you and to request its deletion.

Children

This site is written for adults evaluating software and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age required by their local law to consent to online services.

Changes to this notice

If we change analytics providers, add a feature that collects something new, or alter how affiliate links work, we will update this page to describe it. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised notice.
